Collaboration with Stephen Martonis

Harnessing the metaphoric energy of living plants, transforming silkworms, seismic activity, and the hums of insects, the collaborative work of Jennifer Jeannelle and Stephen Martonis could be described as the visual manifestation of the earth’s energy. Working separately, both artists have created parallel concepts and similar forms, transforming materials like beeswax, rusty metal and insects.  Working together, each artist informs the other, altering their separate ideas into a substantial installation that converges and connects the sounds and structures of the earth with the ephemeral development of technology.
